FLOOD CONTROL CHANNEL  (September Newsletter)  The first major decision that was needed  is where to locate the flood channel. The City and County have been working for many years on a plan that starts north of Fort Collins, goes through the site and continues south to the river. They hope to constructing the  channel  next year. A Newsletter was issued to the surrounding 254 property owners giving two alternative locations and their trade offs on the east side and on the west side. A postcard poll was included and the western alignment was favored by 34 respondents and the eastern alignment was favored by 22. But the City prefers the northeastern alignment. Unfortunately they ran out of money after getting the channel built to our site.500 year flood plain.
