Density

DENSITY in December Three choices will be offered on the intensity of Land Uses. These are measured in a Floor Area Ratio (FAR) where the size of the site is divided by the size of the building. For example a building that covers and entire acre is a 1.0 FAR and if it covers 1/2 an acre, it is a .5 FAR. The three choices are a suburban density of .5 FAR, and urban density of 1.0 FAR and a core (downtown) density of 1.5 FAR. An example of suburban density is the existing surrounding properties around the airpark at about  a .5 FAR  (illustration).  An urban density example is College Ave at about a 1.0 FAR  (illustration). An example of a core density is downtown with a 1.5 FAR (illustration).
